How to Update Aadhaar Card Details Online 2024 @uidai.gov.in

The UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) has recently released a notification detailing updated regulations for Aadhaar enrollment and making changes to Aadhaar details. They have launched new forms for individuals residing in India as well as Indian non-resident citizens (NRIs) who want to either enroll for an Aadhaar number or modify their existing Aadhaar information.

A notable change is that Aadhaar card holders can now update their supporting documents or personal information up to ten years after the date their Aadhaar was issued. This can be done conveniently through the UIDAI’s website or mobile application, or by visiting an Aadhaar enrollment center and submitting a form in person.

Unlike the previous rules from 2016, these new regulations implemented on January 16, 2023 enable online updates, making the process of enrolling for Aadhaar or modifying existing Aadhaar data more accessible and comprehensive.

How to Update Address in Aadhaar Card :

Step 1: Access the official UIDAI portal called My Aadhaar online at https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/ and log into your account.

Step 2: Click on the ‘Address Update’ option.

Step 3: Choose the ‘Update Aadhaar Online’ option to proceed with changing your address. Read through the instructions carefully to understand the requirements for updating your address on your Aadhaar card. Click ‘Proceed to Update Aadhaar’ to continue.

Step 4: Carefully enter the new address details and upload the necessary supporting documents required for changing the address on your Aadhaar card.

Step 5: Complete the process by paying the nominal fee of ₹50.

Step 6: Upon submission, you will receive a Service Request Number (SRN). This number is essential for checking the status of your Aadhaar address update request in the future.

Step 7: Once the internal review process is completed, you will receive a confirmation SMS message

How to Update/Change Photo in Aadhaar Card :

Step 1: Identify an Aadhaar Enrollment Center or Aadhaar Sewa Kendra (customer service center) located near you.

Step 2: Download the Aadhaar Enrollment/Correction/Update Form from the official website of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

Step 3: Carefully and meticulously fill in all the required information on the form.

Step 4: Submit the completed form to the staff member at the center and provide your biometric details (fingerprints and/or iris scan).

Step 5: The staff member will capture your new live photograph.

Step 6: You will need to provide your biometric details again to approve and verify the information you have provided.

Step 7: Pay a fee of Rs. 100 to get your details updated on your Aadhaar card.

Step 8: You will receive an Acknowledgment slip containing an Update Request Number (URN).

Step 9: Use the Update Request Number (URN) to check the status of your Aadhaar update request on the UIDAI portal.

How to Change Name in Aadhaar Card :

Step 1: Download the Aadhaar Enrollment and Update Form from the official website of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

Step 2: Identify an Aadhaar enrollment center or Aadhaar Sewa Kendra (Service Center) located near you and visit it in person.

Step 3: Carefully and meticulously fill in all the required information on the form and hand it over to the staff member at the center.

Step 4: Provide your original proof of identity document to the staff members. They will make a photocopy of it and return the original document back to you.

Step 5: Pay a fee of Rs. 50 to proceed with updating your name on your Aadhaar card.

How to Update DOB in Aadhaar Card :

Step 1: Identify and visit the nearest Aadhaar Enrollment Center located in your area.

Step 2: Fill out the Aadhaar Update Form/Aadhaar Correction Form available at https://uidai.gov.in/images/aadhaar_enrolment_correction_form_version_2.1.pdf

Step 3: Submit the completed form along with documentary evidence to prove your Date of Birth.

Step 4: To authenticate and verify your identity, you must provide your biometric data (fingerprints and iris scan).

Step 5: You will receive a receipt containing an Update Request Number (URN). You can track the status of your Aadhaar update request online using this URN.

Step 6: Pay a fee of Rs. 50 to the staff member at the center.

Step 7: Within 90 days, your Date of Birth will be updated on your Aadhaar card.

How to Apply Online for New Aadhaar Card :

Step 1: Find an Aadhaar Enrollment Center near your location by visiting the official website of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

Step 2: Fill out the enrollment form by providing all the correct information. You can obtain the form format at https://uidai.gov.in/images/aadhaar_enrolment_correction_form_version_2.1.pdf.

Step 3: Submit the duly filled form by attaching all the supporting documents like proof of identity and proof of address.

Step 4: Once the documents are accepted, you need to provide your biometric data along with your fingerprints and iris scan.

Step 5: Next, collect the acknowledgment slip which contains a 14-digit enrollment number. You can use this number to check the status of your Aadhaar card.

You will receive your Aadhaar card at the provided address within the next 90 days.

How to Order PVC Aadhaar Card :

  1. Visit the official website: Access the official Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) website at uidai.gov.in to commence the process.
  2. Find the PVC Aadhaar card section : Locate the section related to ordering a Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Aadhaar card on the website. This section can typically be found under the ‘My Aadhaar’ category.
  3. Enter your Aadhaar number or VID and security code : Provide your 12-digit Aadhaar number or virtual ID (VID) along with the security code displayed on the screen.
  4. Generate OTP : You will receive a One-Time Password (OTP) on your registered mobile number. Enter this OTP to verify your identity.
  5. Select the PVC card option : After successful authentication, choose the option to ‘Order Aadhaar PVC card’.
  6. Make the payment : A nominal fee is required for ordering the PVC Aadhaar card. Select your preferred payment method and complete the transaction.

How to Check Aadhaar Update Status Online :

  • Access the official Aadhaar Self Service Update Portal at https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/check-status.
  • On the page, you will find two input fields: “Aadhaar Number” and “URN” (Update Request Number). Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number in the first field and the URN you received when you submitted your update request in the second field.
  • Type the security code exactly as it is displayed on the page.
  • After entering all the required information, click the “Submit” button.
  • Upon submission, the portal will show the current status of your Aadhaar card update request. It will indicate whether your request is still under review or if it has been approved and your details have been updated.
  • Please note that processing the update request may take some time before the changes are reflected in the system. The duration for an update to be approved can vary, so be patient while checking the status periodically.
  • If you have misplaced or lost your URN, you can retrieve it from the Aadhaar Self Service Update Portal by clicking on the “Retrieve Lost URN” option and following the on-screen instructions.
  • Alternatively, you can check the status of your Aadhaar update via SMS by sending a text message in the format “UID STATUS ” to 51969 from your registered mobile number.

How to Check PVC Aadhaar Status Online :

  • Access the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) website: Navigate to https://uidai.gov.in/.
  • Click on ‘Check Aadhaar PVC Card Status’ under the ‘My Aadhaar’ section.
  • On the new page, select the option ‘Check Aadhaar PVC Card Order Status’.
  • Enter your Service Request Number (SRN) and the Captcha code displayed on the screen.
  • Click on ‘Submit’ to view the current status of your Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Aadhaar Card order.
